10 Worldwide AIDS statistics on world AIDS day
Since it is world AIDS day, I thought I’d gather some AIDS statistics so we all become more aware of the realities of this disease. It’s so easy for us living in the comforts of our lives and not remember the millions of people who are living, and dying with AIDS. Let us at least for one day think about those who are still suffering from it.

World Wide statistics
31.3 million adults living with AIDS
2.1 million children living with AIDS
2.7 million people were infected with HIV in 2008, the virus that causes AIDS
2 million deaths from AIDS
How people become infected
11% babies acquire virus from mothers
10% injecting drug use
5-10% sex between men
5-10% occur in healthcare settings
59-69% sex between men and women
